25 Days of Christmas- Christmas Day!

December 25,2014-

It is Christmas Day!

I hope everyone has a great Christmas day today! All the best wishes for my Six Legged Companion Teams out there!

Okay, the next week we should be thinking about our New Year Resolutions! Are we happy where we are in EVERY aspect of our lives?.....If so great! If not, it's okay too! It just means we need to set some goals for ourselves- whether that's losing a few pounds, spending more time with our pets, our loved ones, bettering or strengthening our relationships, whatever it may be.....we can together work towards getting to exactly were you want to be! And I mean where YOU want to be not where society or family and friends want you to be!

So are you ready to make those changes?!?!?!
First I want you to take some time today to first ENJOY your Christmas and celebrate with your pets/ companions and other loved ones! Second, I want you to really evaluate where you are now and think ok, am I truly happy- hey maybe you are exactly where you want to be (and I hope you are!) and that is GREAT! But if you really want something else or a change in your life, let's talk!....As a health coach, I want to make sure that my clients are well rounded in their lives and I will do anything to help them (and I must admit myself in return) be where they really want to be to be happy- because as we all know the happier we all are the healthier we are! EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED TO EVERTHING (in one way or another- directly or indirectly!)

If you want to work with me to meet your goals you can contact me here:

25 Days of Christmas Day 24

December 24, 2014-

It is Christmas Eve! Santa comes tonight! Have you been nice or naughty? Will you leave cookies and milk for Santa?......

I've made a decision for my holiday meal- and believe it or not- it looks like Christmas too!
Ya ready- here it goes.....

KALE SALAD....ok, there are different ways of making Kale Salad but this is what I prefer......

Here is the recipe:

Ingredients:
Kale ( I like lacinato or Dinosaur kale)but any Kale will do.....
Red Pepper
Tomato
Scallions
Avocado
Olive Oil
Ground Pepper
Salt

What to do:
cut the kale into small ribbons- to do this take the kale leaves and roll them like a cigar, and then take a knife and cut the roll into little strips- you determine the width yourself, I prefer them narrow strips......

Dice the red pepper, you can cut them however you choose- I prefer them in tiny little rectangular/ square pieces.....

Dice up the tomato.....

Cut the scallion- cut off the tip and any yucky leaves.....now, cut the scallion from the ball on up- I use the whole thing......

Cut the avocado- you will really only be using 1/4 to 1/2 of the avocado- (the pit will help preserve the avocado for next time, and help it from not turning brown and yucky)......

Ok, in a bowl put the kale, red pepper, tomato, scallion, and avocado, a dash of salt (to your liking), and some ground pepper, oh yeah and some olive oil (about 1 tbsp. should be enough-if you feel you need more it is up to you or you can leave the oil out all together) I like the flavor that the olive oil adds to the mix.

Now massage all the ingredients together, the kale will start to break down and get softer, the avocado provides a creamy texture to the whole thing and the more you massage the avocado and olive oil with the kale the easier it will be to digest.....you'll know you massaged enough when the kale looks like a Christmas tree with the red lights (red pepper) and all the trimmings (everything else)......

Pretty easy simple recipe huh?!?!?!? Healthy.....Awesome......

A little hint the kale can be tough to digest so cutting it small and really massaging it will help!

Yes, I admit this is where I got this recipe and if anything is different it just shows you can change any recipe to make it suit you!

Tomorrow we'll be talking more about New Year Resolutions!....Are you ready to set your reolutions for the upcoming year?....No, ok we'll do it together!....Yes, alright I will be there to help you succeed in following through and keeping those resolutions!

25 Days to Christmas Day 23

December 23, 2014-

New Years Resolutions!

They started in ancient times with the Babylonians who promised the start of each year to return borrowed objects and pay debts and with the Romans making promises to the god Janus (who January is named ). Knights took the peacock vow at the end of the Christmas season to confirm their commitment to chivalry.

Religiously, the Jewish faiths and Catholics faiths have their similar traditions.

Popular resolutions would include:
  • Lose weight
  • Exercise more
  • Eat Better
  • Drink Less (Alcohol)
  • Quit Smoking
  • Better financial situation
  • Better Career
  • Educate yourself more
  • Reduce Stress
  • Be more organized
  • Reduce Stress
  • Watch less TV
  • Take a trip
  • Volunteer more
  • Make new friends
  • Spend quality time with family members
  • Settle down, get engaged/get married, have kids
A 2007 study involving 3,000 people showed that 88% of those who set New Year resolutions fail, despite the fact that 52% of the study's participants were confident of success at the beginning. Men achieved their goal 22% more often when they engaged in goal setting, while women succeeded 10% more when they made their goals public and got support from their friends.
Note that talking with a health coach about setting goals and new year resolutions can help people keep their resolutions, and how they stick with them over time step by step!

25 Days to Christmas Day 22

December 22, 2014-

As we draw closer to Christmas and the end of 2014! We continue on our journey together towards happier and healthier lives together with our dogs!

I feel as if some days I haven't written much about our furry friends as I would have liked to so I dedicate this blog to my dogs and our holiday guest, Monty!

Today, Scout and I will share our run with Monty- and let him determine how far and how fast we go- ok, overall I will have the ultimate say in this as most dogs can outrun any human! But I will do my best to let him choose the speed.

I am kind of scared about the speed of him in running because I know that his owners are both faster runners and well accomplished athletes. I know they say that they haven't had time for a lot of training lately BUT I think they have and they are just trying to make me feel better about my training!......Anyway......here is to a great training day ahead!...

Skyler, Sandy, Candycane and myself will also include him in on our Doga session! This should be fun, afterall they do say THE MORE THE MERRIER!......

I will also have yet another furry friend to help me in taking human exercises to the doggone doggie way! So I shall be busy this week coming up with more exercises for dog and human alike.

Who are you going to train with today? What will you do?

Did you plan on that Christmas dinner yet? Think about loading up on the fresh veggies and fruits first, and then the trimmings (if you will)......think about the impact that all your ingredients have on the world around you- the environment- the animals- you and your health!......And then plan your meal accordingly to let you heart be in everything you make and serve!

25 Days of Christmas Day 21

December 21, 2014-

Christmas is this week!.....Oh my gosh!.....We already spent three weeks together!......

Loving every bit of it too! Wow, how are you doing? Are you down a size in your clothing?....Have you changed those unhealthy habits?......Is your life more organized?......Ok, I am going to give you the Magic Pill at the end of this blog......the magic pill for being the perfect YOU!

Don't Be Denied Be Supplied!
Stock your kitchen with these items to spice up your meals......any meal can be turned into a gourmet meal.....
Green Onions, cilantro, plum tomatoes, dill, lime,  carrots, and beets..... there are so many things you can do with these items to make any meal special and different! Remember FRESH is best!

Oh, when you have that next drs appt.....know what you want to accomplish.....write down your questions and you control the little bit of time that they give you and all their patients.....Make sure you cover what you want covered! I mean some drs only give each patient 5 mins of their actual time and then hand you over to their assistant......my dr does this and spends more of my time talking with the assistant in the other room....RUDE!....Well Doc, guess what it's time the patients take back our time! My dogs veternarians actually spend time with their patients and examine them.....and talk to them as well as me! And they spend more than 5 minutes let me tell you....so the next time you have that appt know what you want to accomplish and have that list of questions and ask away!

Walk around your room and look at how different things are.....and remember to never leave that room empty handed.......put your clothes away the right way!......

Did you know their is a MAGIC PILL?....Yes there is, the magic pill is something that doesn't cost a lot of money, you already have it in your possession!.......The MAGIC PILL is YOU!.......The doctors in the world are coming at me with pitchforks right now! YIKES!........But it's true, YOU control YOU, not that pill advertised on tv, not the doctor prescribing those pills, BUT YOU!.......Now, the doctor can be a help of course, or that health coach can be there to support your journey!.......And as a health coach I will be there to inform you and help you do the research that is necessary in your busy life. And your dogs life!.....I can be there when you are working and gather all that info so you can really enjoy those precious hours with your dog as opposed to googling, and going to library, etc......so hire that health coach, if I am not the one for you I can suggest someone that is right for you! Bottom line you are the MAGIC PILL, or the MAGIC in your life, never let anyone tell you you aren't! You may need a little extra help here and there but that is okay, there is a lot of info- conflicting info at that you may need to sort through that is where the doctor, the veterinarian, and the health coach come in! (Hint, I as a health coach (and all the fellow health coaches I know work with doctors and veternarians in gathering their info, and all!)

25 Days of Christmas Day 20

December 20, 2014-

Okay, by this time, you gave up meat, dairy, refined sugars, processed food- This is how you should be eating forever.....(ok, you couldn't give up all dairy, you love your cheese....alright, but try to keep it all in moderation!) Think about what you eat, what you crave as not so much what you crave foodwise but otherwise......is it something about your job, your relationship, are you organized or do you need to clean out that sock draw?!?!??!

Rewards- Now, rewarding yourself for a job well done is a GREAT thing and I am totally behind this idea! BUT we don't have to reward ourselves with that BIG cookie. We can reward ourselves with a little massage, or a long massage......a new haircut......a walk with our dogs.....a new book...etc Let the reward match the accomplishment!

Support system- This is so important to our health. SO make a friend maintenance day! Call that friend and keep in touch with them.....or if they're really close get together with them- go to the dogpark, or a walk together!

Have a lot of people in your life been seeing the changes in you?....What about you, have you seen your changes?.....Do you need that whole new wardrobe yet?.......Are you the example for all those around you?.....My guess is that others are looking at you with envy and saying I want some of that!
SO put on your best outfit and strut your stuff today!

25 Days to Christmas Day 19

December 19, 2014-

Ok, so I have to share some awesome workout videos with you that I found and LOVE, I definitely feel the burn and with a little work I think these videos will definitely help my abs and lower abs......

My goal is to take these videos and find the dog assisted versions of them.....Cassey Ho, I have challenged myself and hope that maybe we can work on these videos in a joint video (even if we need to Skype to do so being that I live in NY, and I believe your in CA) and bring the dogs on it!

Alright moving right along......finding the solution to your problem is somewhere in the problem......do the research, look at it from another angle, and find the solution from within.

Amnesty Day!
Create your own amnesty day....go around your house, your car, and wherever else and find everything that belongs to someone else and RETURN this stuff.....Get the stuff out of your house, especially if it belongs to someone else. Set a regular time to do this as well....whether it is a weekly, monthly or quarterly task/ day DO it! Those friends and family members will absolutely appreciate you taking the time to do this, and your life will be less cluttered for it!

Why are you hiding it?
Everyone likes to hide some body part right?!?!?... Well hopefully your at a point after these 19 days that you can celebrate that body part......SO, make today a coming out party and celebrate it! Wear something that subtly reveals that body part!  My friend Julia from http://lemonstripes.com/ can help you do just that.....so go on over and check out her very fashionable blog for some awesome walking talk and proud tips!

Julia from Lemonstripes.com

I think it is safe to say we all had pretend time growing up, or at least most of us......so today let's step back and PRETEND.....you know have the FANTASY you want!

Pretend you have a date with that celebrity, old flame, whoever. And observe the difference in your energy, how you carry yourself, and the twinkle in your eye!

25 Days to Christmas Day 18

Decenmber 18, 2014-

WOW....Christmas is drawing near.....are you getting ready to do all of your holiday cooking for all those visiting loved ones?!?!?!....Did you start you holiday baking?...Remember when you do all of this YOU can do so and keep everyone's health in mind! Keep in mind those diabetics in your family and friends joining you, those with specific health needs, etc......Ok, most of the special lifestyles out there can be satisfied with a healthy plant based recipe or two!....And yes, they will have all of the taste of all those non plant based food choices!.......

Ok, on to today's tips......

Give my a "B"- today, it is your job to be the Cheerleader for all those around you!.....I want you to stay motivated and focused and help others do the same no matter what the game!

We all eat three times a day - breakfast, lunch, and dinner....right!?!?!?!....Ok, from now on don't just eat because it's time for one of these meals.....You could still be digesting your last meal!.....Only eat when truly hungry (not hungry from boredom, or stress, etc....You must be hungry!) Watch yourself when you eat, keep on writing down in your journal and add whether your truly hungry or if your eating because it's dinner time!

Balance- the way we look.....look at your clothes, hair, everything....everything has to work as a whole........YOU ARE A WHOLE PERSON!

Have clothes that fit your body! Something with a good fit is going to make you feel so much better. You will walk taller, and work those clothes! Stop hiding behind your clothes!

TIME OUT!
Take 10-15 minutes and just take that time for you, meditate, read, whatever makes you happy.....but do it for YOU!

25 Days to Christmas Day 17

December 17, 2014-

Today's idea: Inner Brat- this is the inner self saboteur that throws that tantrum in order to get what they want! It's time to teach it manners and respect for your efforts and goals!

Shop the Ethnic Aisle!......Explore this aisle.......they are healthy and full of character!

WATER DAY!
You should be drinking water all day long to begin with BUT today let's make it the only beverage you drink all day long! Pay attention to how your digestive system is functioning, you may never want to go back!

JUNK THE JUNK MAIL!
As you get your mail today, and days to follow go through it and discard those pieces of junk......and anything that requires a response- respond to it immediately! This way you'll avoid the build up and never forget to pay that bill or RSVP to the awesome party ever again!
Here is a bonus tip: to avoid excess junk mail: get the app: PaperKarma, you can cut down on unwanted paper and save the planet at the same time!

Sleepy Time!
Getting a great night's sleep is essential to your overall health.....so here are some tips for doing just so!
Take long deep breaths, and start with your toes working all the way to your head......and say good night to each part of your body!
Make sure you sleep in total darkness, light keeps you awake longer and makes it tougher to sleep.
Turn of any tvs, radios, etc.....sleep QUIETLY!
Make sure your comfortable in your room....you may want to paint your room a darker color or not vibrant color to allow for a more restful sleep!
Electronics- keep them away from your sleeping area.....remove all computers, TV's, phones, etc from the area in which in sleep.......(the only thing I have in my room is a simple light to switch on and off as needed. I keep all other electronic devices in another room!)

Okay, now what are you doing to keep moving today....here is a video to consider, Cassey Ho from Blogilates is one of my favorite people on YouTube!

25 Days to Christmas Day 16

December 16, 2014-

Okay your decorating should be underway or finished......your gift buying (or making) should be done, your house should be ready for all those holiday visitors!.....Wait, did you wrap those gifts?....Before you go about wrapping all those great gifts think about all the paper that is wasted, thrown out, and not recycled during the holiday season!......How you creatively wrap those gifts to give yet another personal touch to your gift giving?.....Will you use recycled wrapping paper?....Can you use a reusable bag instead?......What can you do to help save our planet?....Think about giving the planet a gift as well!

Self sabatoge and anger- do you turn to food when your angry?......Overeating to make you feel in control......come on we probably all have done this at some point!.....Okay, when you feel angry next time instead of going for that box of cookies or bag of chips....or pint of ice cream....try to understand where it's all coming from and deal with it head on......Do something constructive and positive instead.......BE AWARE of your feelings! KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!

Ok, put your shoe together differently today....try this......point one shoe outwards, and the other towards the back of your closet! Wear comfortable shoes, a good pair of shoes is essential afterall we use our feet everyday and we should take care of them!

Accessories- take them and look at them and see if they are all the new you!
If they aren't get rid of them, donate them, give them to a friend who it is!....It's the holiday season, regift some of these items!

And don't forget to check out my book on amazon.com......

25 Days to Christmas Day 15

December 15, 2014-

Time draws nearer and nearer.....hope your getting more ready for the holidays ALMOST upon us!

Passion= Energy
The more you want to do something the less it is work to you!
Don't look at the next few days as something you need to do BUT as baby steps to a goal you want to be reaching SOON!

Go into your closet! Revamp it all!.....Get an overall view of everything....now put everything that belongs together and hang them together!.......(Even if you think it's like that double check and match things up again!).....Ok, Now that you've done that and evaluate, things- do I need them, does it fit, hang things according to color.....

Now what about your shoes......do the same for your shoes.....try them on and see how they feel......are they fitting you altogether?!?!?!? Are they shabby?....Can they be fixed up?.....Are they the new you?!?!??!.......

Carry all these tips during these next 25 days to Christmas throughout your life!.......
Think LONG term, not SHORT term!

Listen to your body, it will tell you what it needs I promise!......

And don't forget to check out my book on amazon.com......

I've made some new goals for myself last night....ya ready, here they are:

1-Do daily CORE workouts......yes, I'm going onto Youtube and checking out the core workouts, there are tons and trying them out each and everyday......bonus I will be trying to make the exercises into the dog versions whenever possible......
I will also be doing my Daily Doga routine.....adding new poses into the mix, you know those Yoga poses that have been around for hundreds of years BUT making them poses for you and your dog to enjoy and work on together!
(Lucky for me, my four dogs will be helping me out with this one!)

2- Of course to continue on my daily runs with my dog, but with a twist, we will be training for a LONG run- I want to run with Scout from my house to the east end of Long Island.....It will be a safe run, not sure how long it will take....I will attempt to make stops at several shelters along the way.....have people to be able to check on us along the way.....and have a final destination point soon.....Oh did I mention I want to do this as a fundraiser for an animal rescue organization- newly formed of course!......I may actually split the funds between two organizations- I have two in mind already! The run will most likely be 30 miles or more......More info to follow on this one!

3- I will have two smoothies daily (fruit, green, etc) and no less than 10 8oz glasses of water daily!

4- Each day will be a special day for one of my four dogs (keep in mind I will not forget my other dogs, BUT say Tuesdays will be for Skyler so she will get her Tuesday ride in the car, stop at the dogpark, etc.....just for her......)

5- I will continue to blog and vlog here and on YouTube to bring more to my readers/ viewers!

Alright, your still with me so your doing good....I'm off for my run with Scout.....see you tomorrow!

25 Days to Christmas Day 14

December 14, 2014-

Oh my goodness, can you believe it- Christmas is almost upon us? Did you write your letter to Santa?....Hope you started and possibly finished your decorating!.......Did you do your Christmas baking?.....Remember even in your Christmas baking you can make healthier choices!

I hope you have been breaking a sweat everyday along with me so far. I hope you gave up meat, dairy, refined sugar, and most processed foods (I know this one can be hard, as today everything seems to be processed.....) BUT remember take those small steps.

Progress NOT Perfection!

Okay you know those days when you start coming down with that cold or just feeling under the weather or something is upsetting you....here's what you do.....

Pull yourself together and be the best YOU for YOU!

It will lift you up and your spirits will be lifted.......and your day will be so much brighter!

Exercise your Memory......when you go shopping today don't write your list down just see what you need and remember them (you can write a list at home BUT leave it there!) See how much you can remember when your in the store- it's time to exercise your memory. Hey, what you don't use you lose right?!?!?

Go Shopping without spending any money.......Ok, I am not telling you to go shoplifting here, not by any means.....what I mean is......Walk around and see what is out there, try things on.......see what looks good on you.....put it back and go home and see if you already have it in your closet! Your feel great and your wallet will love you for it!

Challenge today- Go decorate something extra around the house for the holidays!.....It could be the tree, it could be some extra twinkle lights outside.....whatever it is, go add some holiday cheer around your house.....get further into the holiday spirit! (Or maybe add those Hanukkah lights in the window!)

And don't forget to check out my book on amazon.com......

25 Days to Christmas Day 13

December 13,2014-

Day 13......Are you starting to self sabatoge??!?!?!?......Ok, let's talk about this.....

Why are we self sabatoging?.....Are we using it as body armor?.....Are we just staying in the area in life that we are most accustomed to!?!?!?.....Think twice about the choices you are making...I know I have to do the same!

DEHAMPER DAY! Anything broken, falling apart, out of place, hastily patched, or anything that is a little embrassing........SAY goodbye to them- either fix them totally, or get rid of them overall.....this includes getting that haircut to rid yourself of those stray hairs!
Dehamper your house, your wardrobe, and yourself!

Here's a tip for your salads- ok, we all know that those salad dressing you buy at the store of loaded with all sorts of junk so here are some solutions to enjoying them without so much of the guilt in doing so.....
1- Get a spray bottle and put a little salad dressing in the bottle and spray the dressing onto your salad (You may need to add a little water to some dressings, which is a bonus as well.....)

2-Have your salad but keep the dressing on the side and just dip a forkful in the dressing as you take a bite of it, this way you will not be smothering you salad in all that dressing and making your salad soggy!

3- Take a plastic bag put some salad in it.....and then add a tablespoon of salad dressing to the bag....blow some air into the bag to balloon it up make sure it's sealed or twisted at the top and shake it up....Extra bonus- Put on some of your favorite music and dance as you shake it up.......hey you can actually work up an appetite as you prepare your salad!

Ok, Are you still moving everyday....I hope so......today I want you to check out some You Tube Videos.....I'll get you started below with some......but everyday why not check out a new workout video FOR FREE, can you beat that price? Right on YouTube!......

Yes, that's a quick Doga Video I put together, there will be more to come.......so go on over to my channel and subscribe for some upcoming videos!

And I gotta share one of my favorite people's videos on YouTube......Cassey Ho, also has a video or two where she brings the dogs into her workouts......Ya gotta check her videos out!

And don't forget to check out my book on amazon.com......

25 Days to Christmas Day 12

December 12, 2014-

Oh, my halfway there.....only 2 more weeks to go to get all your shopping done! So now is the time to finish up getting those gifts together, why not make some of your gifts......here is a simple idea!

Ya ready?.....Go to Michaels or AC Moore Arts and Crafts store and get an inexpensive yet nice little basket and maybe some clear cellophane to wrap it in and some straw or something to package things in.....then go to Trader Joes or Whole Foods and get things to fill the basket....you can do a candy theme basket,  a vegan theme basket, a beauty basket, or even a pet basket with all sorts of treats and goodies (you can stop off at Petco, Pet Supplies Plus, or PetSmart and pick some goodies as well)......Or better yet you can get the ingredients for homemade chocolate or cookies and fill the basket with homemade FULL of LOVE cookies for those that mean so much to you. I know you can buy already made baskets BUT this way you can individualize each basket and really know what your putting into the basket for everyone! Personalize each basket, you can put notes on each item that tells whoever receives it that yes, you were thinking of them specifically when you made this or saw in the store, etc......Have fun with it!

Ok, here are you tips for Day 12- Do you feel any changes? ....Are your clothes fitting better?....Are you being an example to others?......

Discipline- You have to get through those first few steps or days to making changes to living a healthy lifestyle. But I promise once you get through it all you are not going to want to go back!

Finding Your Center: Do you want to know how to do this?....Ok, it's really simple, let's do it!
First, lie on a flat surface (on your back), knees up, and relax. As your lower back comes in contact with the floor, you'll be able to feel your center. Find it?!?!?!? Now use that center when your working out, sitting at your computer (sit up nice and tall, or when your driving)....

Stay Organized! Simple tip here....get a calendar and post things going on like appointments, and such. Write down your daily chores. If you live with other people have them include their appts and all on the calendar as well so that everyone knows what is going on and if needed you can arrange your day around things that (and everyone else) need to get done, etc

More on Shampooing......wash your hair in warm water and do the final rinse in cool water. Warm water expands the hair shaft while cool water tightens the cuticle. And it results in a deeper cleaning,  less frizz, and a healthier shine!

25 Days to Christmas Day 11

December 11, 2014-

36 Hour solution- a day and a half- When you need to make that big decision and things seem overwhelming or out of control- try it, wait 36 hours and let things calm down, and get back to "normal" and then make your decision......

Pick a Fruit- First make friends with your local produce manager......Second pick fruit with strong vibrant colors, don't just look for the best looking piece of fruit either sometimes the best ripest fruits have those ugly brown speckles on them......like bananas for instance.....everyone knows bananas as ripe when they are yellow and not green, right???!??!...Okay, I will give you that one, but to truly be ripe bananas should be speckled as well......So know what to look for when choosing your fruits! Don't forget to smell it! Also let the fruit ripen on the countertop or kitchen table NOT the fridge!

Take care of yourself as if you were a 2 year old, be nurturing. Say no every so often, give yourself time outs, etc.....

Do you have a spot where things pile up? You know that exercise gear that you just piled up in the bedroom or those clothes that need to be washed......Okay it's time to do something about it.....remove the culprit, if it's a certain chair remove the chair from an easy toss for your things or somewhere you'll be less likely to throw things onto it.......and put that gear where it belongs. You made a spot for your exercise gear a few days ago, so put it there. Do some laundry and put it all away, you cleaned your sock and underwear draws so your should have room there.....Get Organized!

Take a slenderizing bath with baking soda for the next 10 days......Take a hot bath, fill your tub half way with hot water, a cup of baking soda, fill the tub up the rest of the way and maybe a favorite fragrance.  Soak your body for 20 minutes. It will enhance weight loss, get rid of toxins, and it will make your skin so soft and smooth. Now, go RELAX!

Amidst all the holiday hustle and bustle, we need to take time to chill out and enjoy the hours in the day, so why not head on over to your local dogpark with your best friend and have some holiday fun with some other dogs and people alike!

And don't forget to check out my book on amazon.com......

25 Days to Christmas Day 10

December 10, 2014-

Okay Day 10....Your still with me right?!?!? Okay, your reading this so you must be.....

Concentrated Foods and Wet Foods-

Concentrated Foods= your main entrée- your protein or starch.....like  where as your wet food is something that had a high water content in it....like your veggies!.....

Do not mix your wet food with cheeses and sauces, you'll make it a concentrated food!

You should be having a wet food with every concentrated food at every meal!

When you eat this way, your digestion will be so much better.

BLUE!.....I want you to find that blue shirt, scarf, whatever and put it on! The right shade of blue can bring out the beauty in your skin tone and eye color!

Take a WALK today, really get into your walk today!.....Move those arms, move those legs, work those abs, take your dog out and get your leash on!....LOVE that walk!

Find the humor in everything you do today! Exercise your funny bone!

25 Days to Christmas Day 9

December 9, 2014-

It's Day 9.....

Supersized! Everything today is Supersized right!?!?!?? What is a portion size anyway?.....

Size does matter!

Are people wondering what your doing?....Why are you looking better, feeling better, and being the best you ever!.....You are setting the example by walking your talk......Those critics in your life will soon be right behind you!

Ok, your ready to try on that piece of clothing that you put aside, so put your theme song on and try it on....BETCHA it fits better and your dancing like you never danced before.....

Make a replacement list and jot down anything you need in your house.....BE SUPPLIED NOT DENIED!......This way your sure not to run out of toilet paper at the most inoppourtune time!

Layout your clothes the night before, do things the night before that you can so that you can be ahead of the game!.....

Okay, today it's raining here on Long Island so I am opting to not run and workout inside! My dogs and I will be getting out Doga on, and getting down with Pupilates!....We'll be coming up with a few new exercises to bring your way....hopefully getting them on video to share with you so tune in tomorrow for Day 10 and further blogs and vlogs to make a difference in your teams lives......

And don't forget to check out my book on amazon.com......

25 Days to Christmas Day 8

December 8, 2014-

Oh my Day 8....we are good friends at this point!......

Did have a Green Smoothie yesterday?....what did you put into it?....How did you feel afterwards?.....

Today's Ideas:

FOOD Combining.....

How do you plan with Plan B?....Alright we always planned and wanted Plan A....but what actually happens is Plan B......Think of Plan B as an adventure!.....Heck I always planned on being a top photographer, and a dog trainer, but ended up as a Six Legged Companion Coach......the best career in the world!.....

Go Shop BUT it your own closet....mix and match those tops and bottoms that you never thought of putting together!

Bag your Bags.....use a frozen tbsp. and put it convex side down under your eyes, right against your skin....or use cold cucumber slices on those eyes, or you can use chamomile tea (wait- pour some tea in ice cube trays and freeze then pop them out, wrap them in a paper towel and hold them under your eyes.

Shampoo and Conditioner- Okay, here a tip for healthier hair and a healthier wallet......don't over use the shampoo and conditioner.....you should be using about a quarter size of shampoo (yes, the size of a quarter) and dime worth of conditioner (that's right the size of a dime).....when you put the conditioner on start with the ends and work your way towards your scalp!......Your hair will be easier to manage!

DRINK WATER!....As they always told us in the Army, DRINK WATER!......Wow, the military gets something right, ok, I admit a few others things they got right but only a few!......Our bodies are made up of 70% water and so are our dogs bodies, and as we go about our day we lose some of that water by perspiration and all. So what do we have to do replace it!.....We should be drinking at least 8- 8oz glasses of water a day.....MINIMUM people......so for the rest of our time together I want ALL of us (and the rest of our lives as well) to be drinking the MINIMUM if not more to HYDRATE ourselves.....the more we drink, the more full we will be as well....bonus right....now we still have to eat to get the rest of our nutrients but we will be less apt to emotionally eat that if we aren't full from WATER! I will go further into water in another blog/ vlog so stay tuned!

Today, I'm giving you one of my favorite exercises to do with your dog.....so I challenge you and your dog to give it a try and make sure you have that water bottle along for both of you......here it is....

It's a simple exercise but can be great for your legs as well as your core- REMEMBER to keep that core strong and only move the leg that you are working with- NOTHING else should be moving!....Also when your working with your dog, make sure they are willing to do the exercise, if they want to stop allow them and come back later. Oh, don't forget to praise your dog for a job well done!

Ok, until tomorrow, have a healthy, happy, tail waggin' day!

25 Days of Christmas Day7

December 7, 2014-

WOW! One week through the challenge, can you believe it? I feel as if we're good friends already......two more weeks, don't try on that piece of clothing you put aside just yet though, you will shortly I promise!

How is everything going?....Are you being mindful of what you eat?....Did you ditch the processed foods?....Did you ditch the meat and dairy?.....How about the sugar.....are you ok without any refined sugars in your life?....Are you getting exercise throughout the day?.....Are you really chewing your food?

Alright now that I checked in with you so far,  you can go to the facebook page and check it:

I also want to add my book is available on amazon now, this is a guide to living a healthy and happy lifestyle with your dog! Check it out here:

Now, for Day 7.......

Are you a self sabatoger?.....resist those little ways to trip all your great hard work, stay committed to what you are doing to improve your health!

We are working on TOTAL HEALTH, and it's not just about food.....this is where I can help you personally as a health coach!......I want to really know my clients to help them personally- something doctors don't do today.....mainly because they don't have the time to do so because they have so many patients!

Today, bring some joy to someone elses life....trust me it can lift you up in so many ways.....you can really do something good for yourself as well as doing something good for someone else!

Set your alarm 15 minutes earlier for tomorrow!

Today is Sunday, and I gotta tell you there are a bunch of running races here on Long Island, there are probably a bunch near you too! Why not go join others at the race, you don't have to race the course, you can use it as a training run....but be sure to pay for the race as they are clearing and making the course runner friendly and all. Or just take your dog out for a run or a walk.

For the rest of this challenge, try this have one Green Smoothie a day......I have mine for breakfast.

You can add almond milk (opt to make your own), coconut water or milk (again opt to make your own), or plain water....you can add whatever fruit you want to your smoothie......RULES?!?!??! What rules?!?!?.....You can add Carob (if your sharing it with your dog) or Carob (not for your dog), Vanilla bean, peanut butter (either make your own or get non GMO, vegan PB) or any nut butter- 1 tbsp. will be enough of nut butters....you can also add coconut butter (this is a favorite of mine). I will talk more about Coconut Oil in a another blog so stay tuned!

So this is another challenge for you to add into your remaining 2 weeks, hopefully the rest of your life!

Until tomorrow as Dara Dubinet on You Tube says "Get Your Greens On!" and as I say "Get Your Leash On!"......

25 Days to Christmas Day 6

December 6, 2014-

Scout just like your dog wants to Get Their Leash and head on out to MOVE, whatcha gone do about it?

Skyler wants everyone to check out her new book "Get Your Leash On!" available on Amazon.com

I also want to add my book is available on amazon now, this is a guide to living a healthy and happy lifestyle with your dog! Check it out here:

To move on with todays specific tips and suggestions here we go:

Hopefully your feeling well fueled and full of energy.....

Okay, so we need to think GUSTO today!....Practice putting a little GUSTO into everything you do today!......ATTITUDE IS EVERTHING!

Are you conscious of everything you eat?.....and how your body feels when you put it in your body?......I want you to adopt the mantra "It's not gutfill anymore!"

Stand up straight today- it's an automatic way to look thinner......sit up straight as well- adjust your posture......

Clean up your underwear draw, just like you did with that sock draw......if it doesn't belong in a healthy persons wardrobe GET RID OF IT!....

FEET time- take care of them, here is a tip for softer feet.....take some body lotion and rub it on your feet, then take two pairs of socks and put them on and go about your day.....you can do this at night time too! Just cover those feet in body lotion and put 2 pairs of socks on and your feet will feel smooth and soft, and will be ready to get you through those workouts. (Do not forget you cleaned that sock draw out the other day, so you have matching socks with no holes in them!)

Okay, tonight get a good nights sleep and I will see you tomorrow for Day 7!
